Look forward to seeing you all at the track soon.

Do us a favour too while you're working on your cars, if you see any other VWDRC-ers who might not get this email, just give them a reminder, we recognise that not everyone is online all the time and a gentle reminder from their mates can be very effective ;)

Performance VW Feature the VWDRC!

As some of you might know, earlier this year at Bug Jam we had a few visitors from Performance VW magazine. The guys from PVW spent the day around the pits, interviewing, chatting, hanging out and generally getting to know the VWDRC with a view to a short feature.

Well the October 2009 issue sees the fruits of that visit, the short feature turned into an 11 page spread but we're not complaining!

Thanks very much to the guys for such a great feature, we're all over the moon with it.
Here's a bit of a taster, but get down your local newsagents and pick up a copy now!

Upcoming Events!

Over the weekend of 4th - 6th September NAS Events will again be putting on the VW Action event at Santa Pod Raceway.

As was the case last year, the boys and girls of the VWDRC will be joining a number of other quick cars on the track on the Saturday night to put on a VW Drag Racing Extravaganza for you to watch.

Keep an eye out for Ian Huggan in the Subaru powered Darkside beetle, and Rich Merriman in his gorgeous orange 12 second bug.

There will also be VWDRC members out on the track on the Sunday in the form of a Peak Performance Day to entertain the crowds and get some practice in advance of the final championship round of the season, the UK National Finals at Santa Pod Raceway from 26th - 27th September.

Come and check out the Action Auction where our brave chairman, Chris Bray, will be getting his head shaved for Brad's Cancer Foundation (www.brads.org.uk). Click here to sponsor him for a worthy cause! - http://www.justgiving.com/chris-bray/

Open Sports Nationals 2009

On the weekend of 21st - 23rd August 2009 the VWDRC pay their second visit of the season to Shakespeare County Raceway for the 2009 Open Sports Nationals event.

With the top two places in the VW sportsman championship divided by only 150 points there promises to be some great competition. Lucy Matthews will be hoping to extend her lead, with both the VW Sportsman and VWDRC Rookie of the Year trophies within her sights.

The racing at Shakespeare County Raceway always throws up the odd surprise, so it'd be well worth popping along for the weekend if you like the idea of watching some awesome VW racing.

We look forward to seeing you there!
